Soil Mixing
Many of the construction projects in the Pacific Northwest face challenges due to high moisture content soil and soil types that include clays and silts. An effective way to manage this challenge is through cement amending the soil. This allows the contractor to utilize otherwise over optimum moisture content material on-site, instead of off-hauling this material. The process mixes cement into the existing site materials, up to 18 inches deep, creating a homogenous mix where the soil can react with cement and dramatically increase the compressive strength of the soil. Work can continue beyond normal weather boundaries and keep a project on schedule.
