Slip Lining Existing Effluent Line
This was a design-build project. Work included slip lining approximately 3,750 of ocean effluent line at Nye Beach. Kerr Contractors worked directly with the Owner’s engineer to design and determine means and methods for slip lining the existing effluent line. Work involved staging and welding 20″ HDPE pipe along a heavily populated beach during peak tourist season. Construction required significant coordination with Owner, City of Newport, State Lands and local businesses to develop a workable schedule for construction. During periods of favorable tides, Kerr Contractors worked 24X7 to successfully complete the slip lining. Normal paper plant operations were not impacted during construction.
