What You’ll Do:

Safety Leadership

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and PPE, tools, and equipment are used consistently
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings/briefings
  • Develop pre-construction safety plans with management team
  • Promote and maintain safety culture as top priority

 

Quality & Values

  • Ensure crews provide quality workmanship
  • Implement systematic internal checks and QC processes
  • Maintain double-check procedures
  • Ensure Kerr Core Values are implemented and adhered to

 

Project Management

  • Administer prime contracts, subcontracts, and paving truck fleet
  • Manage communications and document control
  • Handle change management and payments
  • Monitor budget updates
  • Review performance of direct reports
  • Maintain schedule management
  • Ensure profitable and timely execution of all assigned projects
  • Keep daily job records and project documents current/accurate
  • Resolve contract issues/conflicts promptly with Project owners/Suppliers/Subcontractors/other parties
  • Conduct daily job costing of crew activities and trucking
What You’ll Need:

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Construction Management or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience managing:
  • Asphalt paving contracts
  • Public works projects
  • Private owner projects
  • Site work
  • Highway construction
  • Road projects
  • Utilities
  • Airport projects

 

Proficient in:

  • HCSS Heavy Job
  • Electronic document control systems
  • Project scheduling (MS Project, SureTrak, P6 or similar CPM software)
  • Effectively resolving contract disputes
  • Managing changes
  • Handling multiple projects totaling $20M-$25M annually
  • Plant mix operations
  • Pit and aggregate production

 

Quality management including:

  • Plant production testing
  • Field placing testing
  • Smoothness requirements
  • Intelligent Compaction

 

Preferred Qualification
ODOT and WSDOT paving project experience

*Must have valid license and acceptable driving record
*Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Jobsite location is anywhere from SW Washington to Portland Metro & Surrounding areas
