Kerr Contractors partnered with the developer in the pre-construction phase for this 32 Acre, $70 Million dollar development for 18 months to help bring the project to reality. Topographical constraints require  Kerr Contractors to remove nearly 1,000,000 cubic yards of earth from the site to create 535,000 square feet of building pads for commercial use. Team Kerr, with industry partners, is constructing three separate elements of design-build retaining wall systems to make room for the building pads and parking areas. Project challenges included a wet weather start to construction, BUT within a matter of days, the site was prepared with the necessary erosion measures to allow work to proceed throughout the winter. The emphasis during pre-construction was how to best use the onsite rock excavation to produce spec aggregates for the project. Risk-sharing between the developer and the construction team supports accelerated project delivery and produces an outstanding opportunity for all parties.
