    Brent Kerr, Founder & President, Brent Kerr is a native Oregonian, having graduated in 1983 from Oregon State University with a BS in Construction Engineering Management. Upon Graduation, he began working for Grade-Way Construction, a large heavy civil construction contractor in Fremont, California. During his five years with the company, Mr. Kerr rose through the ranks to become Grade-Way's youngest ever General Superintendent. His projects ranged from large site developments to highway reconstruction. In 1988, he left to begin his own business back in Oregon. Since then, Kerr Contractor has grown from a small site-work contractor to the largest heavy civil construction contractor headquartered in Oregon. As Kerr Contractor's President, Mr. Kerr oversees all aspects of business from business development, human resources, field operations, equipment and asset management and strategic planning.

    Tim Kerr, Vice President, Tim Kerr is also an Oregon native. While attending the University of Oregon, he worked for Brent at Grade-Way Construction, in the Bay Area, during the summer months. These experiences formed the foundation of his career path, so when Brent ventured into business for himself, Tim was his first employee. Since then, Tim has held the positions of foreman, general superintendent, and senior project manager, and currently serves as the company’s overall operation and business development manager. He is also Kerr Contractors underground utilities specialist with experience in a wide range of projects from pipelines and municipal systems to site utilities. As Vice President, Tim oversees all field operations for the company and is highly involved with business development and customer relations. His expertise is a vital component in strategic planning for the company.

    Alan Aplin, Vice President, Alan Aplin is another Oregon native, having graduated in 1983 from Oregon State University with a BS in Construction Engineering Management. Alan was a classmate of Brent Kerr. After a couple of years, Alan followed Brent to Grade-Way Construction where, for five years, he supported Brent and others on large site development and public works projects and also worked in the estimating department. In 1990, Alan left Grade-Way and began working for a national environmental remediation company working throughout the western United States. In 1994, he joined Kerr Contractors as a project manager and later became the chief estimator. As Vice President of Estimating, Alan is in charge of all company preconstruction and estimating functions and is a vital participant in strategic planning for the company.

    Tim Hayner, Operations Manager, Tim Hayner is an Oregon native, having graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a BS in Construction Engineering Management. After graduating, Tim went to work for Tri-State Construction in Bellevue, Washington where he worked initially as a project engineer on municipal and highway projects for a variety of public and private owners. During his 21 years at Tri-State, Tim advanced to become the senior project manager, chief estimator, and Vice President overseeing operations. In 2012, Tim joined Kerr Contractors as the Operations Manager. As the Operations Manager, Tim is in charge of all civil construction projects and oversight during the planning and execution of the work.

    Quinn Cox, Senior Estimator, Quinn Cox is an Oregon native, having graduated from Oregon State University in 1998 with a BS in Construction Engineering Management. Quinn had several summer internships and 17 years with a large heavy civil contractor in the Portland Metropolitan area. During that time, Quinn specialized in site development and utility projects. Quinn joined Kerr Contractors in 2009 and has led the company into many of the higher profile projects. Quinn is an extensive user of AGTEK ™ software for project visualization and resource optimization for sitework projects.

    Kacy Carter, Senior Project Manager, Kacy Carter is another Oregon Native, upon graduation in 2002 from Oregon State University with a BS in Construction Engineering Management he came directly to work for Kerr. During his tenure at Kerr he has managed wide range of projects, both public and private works jobs, including roadway reconstruction, large diameter welded steel water tranmission main pipelines, box culverts, wetland mitigations and commercial site developments. Mr. Carter also has performed emergency interim jetty repairs at the Coos Bay North Jetty. Kacy will routinely support the estimating department in bid reviews.

    Sam Kennedy, Senior Project Manager, Sam Kennedy is another Oregon native, having graduated in 1996 from California State University at Chico with a B.S. in Construction Management. After graduation, Sam worked in the Bay Area as a project engineer for Granite Construction where he worked on a large interchange project and several large private developments. In 1999 Sam returned to Oregon where he shortly joined Kerr Contractors as a project manager. During his tenure at Kerr Contractors, Sam has headed the safety department and worked in the estimating department. Currently Sam is the executive safety director and a senior project manager for the company on large multi-year infrastructure projects and is currently assigned the company's largest infrastructure project to-date, called the Sunrise Corridor.

    Joel Jenson, Senior Project Manager, Joel Jenson Jr. is another Oregon native from the Astoria region, having graduated from Oregon State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Construction Engineering Management. Working for Kerr Contractors since graduation, Joel’s drive for completing challenging projects for both Private and Public owners has earned him a position as a senior project manager at Kerr Contractors. Joel has demonstrated the ability to bring together suppliers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders together as a successful team to build multifaceted projects such as large scale freeway interchanges, big box retail developments, transportation hubs, and environmental improvements.

    John Arambul, Paving Division Manager, John Arambul has been an involved in asphalt paving in the northwest for over 30 years. Manager of Western States Paving for over 20 years, his experience includes all of Washington and the Portland metro areas. John's experience includes cold-in-place recycling, chip sealing and hot mix asphalt paving. John came to Kerr Contractors in 2009 to manage the Asphalt Paving division. John is in charge of all asphalt mix production and paving laydown operations.

    Don Roberts, Truck Fleet Manager. Don Roberts began his career at Kerr as a labor and quickly moved into an equipment operator position. Wanting to add more responsibility to his resume. Don took on the role of project foreman. In 2008 Don began dispatching trucks and overseeing the Woodburn headquarters yard. Don has also been a champion in the development and growth of the recycling division. Today, Don is overseeing the truck fleet as well as taking on a larger role supporting Brent Kerr in equipment purchases and sales. He is a great example of how employees at Kerr are able to grow with the company.

    Glenn Furman, Chief Financial Officer, Glenn Furman, a Minnesota native, earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bemidji State University in Minnesota. Glenn spent over 7 years working in public accounting performing tax, audit and advisory services before entering the construction industry in 2003. Glenn served as the Director of Finance and Administration/Risk Management for a large oil and gas pipeline construction company in Minnesota for 11 years before relocating his family to the Portland Oregon area in late 2014. Glenn’s responsibilities at Kerr include overseeing the accounting department and financial reporting, serve as a strategic advisor to the shareholders, assemble financial forecast information, participates on the Executive Leadership Team, involved in overseeing various areas of risk management and manages the relationships of Kerr’s financial partners.
